Five Ten Outlet!

If you are looking for good climbing shoes for a good price you should definitely check out the five ten outlet in Redlands. They have brand new shoes usually for 30~40% off retail and sell demo shoes for $30 to $40. There are two catches though. One is that the selection is limited. The other is that they are open only on Fridays 1~6pm. I recommend you get there early if you want the best selection. I got there at 1:08pm and it was already packed with climbers looking for a deal.

Hueco

I just got reservations for North Mountain in Hueco for 4 days! I do need to find sometime for East Mountain and East Spur though... I doubt I'll have time to make my way to the West Mountain this trip. Oh well it'll give me a good excuse to make my way back to Hueco.

5 days to go...

I can't believe it's almost time. It seemed like it'll never happen but in a few days I'll be on the road. I'm very Psyched! but a bit psyched out. I'm at the point where I'm doubting if I packed enough, planned enough, chose the right destinations, gave myself enough time... Pretty much second guessing everything. I'm sure as soon as my hand grabs a hold of the rock and I start making my way up the boulder all this worrying will fade away. That is the awesome power of climbing. :o)

www.8a.nu

I have finally started logging my climbs on 8a.
I think I got most of my harder climbs logged in. I'm hoping by the end of my trip I can get some V6s on the list :o)

RIP Dr.topo.com....

Here it is, the first little bump in the road. I planned many of my destinations based on bouldering guides from Dr. Topo and now the site has gone down! I can't blame the guy for taking the site down but it is a major bummer. For the major areas I can buy a guide book but for smaller less popular areas it's going to be hard trying to find the routes. I guess I'll have to use mountainproject.com and rockclimbing.com for the time being. If anybody has guides on any of my destinations please contact me, and thanks in advance.

It is on like Donkey Kong!

The long awaited trip is finally going to happen. I will be leaving for a cross country rock climbing trip on Jan 29th. The rough plan is to be gone for 2 months. Staying south most of the way to minimize getting snowed in. Here is link to a map that shows my rough plan. A little too ambitious? Perhaps ;oP
